Frank Anthony Memorial All India Inter School Debate Competition10-Jul-2023

For good ideas and true innovation, you need human interaction, conflict, argument, debate. -Margaret Heffernan Unison World School served as the venue for the prestigious Frank Anthony Memorial All India Inter School Debate Competition Category 1 Stage 1 on 10th July 2023. CISCE hosts the event every year in remembrance of Mr. Frank Anthony, the founder Chairman of the Indian School Certificate Examination, to help students develop their critical and creative thinking, oratory abilities, cohesiveness of ideas, confidence, poise, and capacity for taking on challenges. According to the Council Guidelines, the topic ‘Social Media gives no scope for having real peers’ was made known to the participants an hour before the debate. Arguments were presented by participants from six different schools. Reputable English teachers from all around the city, Ms. Nadira Ahmad, Mr. Nikhil Rawat, and Ms. Arti Agarwal, evaluated the pupils on their content, presentations, refutations, language use, and stance. Great brains with deep interest defended their positions clearly and methodically. The judges commended the participants for their creative ways of presenting ideas and points of view as well as the school administration for providing the tools necessary for an effective and organised event. The principal; Dr. Mona Khanna congratulated the winners as she distributed Certificates of Merit. The winner was St. Joseph's Academy, and Wynberg Allen School in Mussoorie was the runner up. The best speaker award went to Jennifer Grace Joseph of Khrist Jyoti Academy. Sara Khan of Convent of Jesus & Mary High School was the runner up in the best speaker category.
