‘There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on treasure island.’ -Walt Disney To help students explore the world of fantasy, grow wings of imagination, realize the joy of reading books, dream with open eyes and be ahead of their contemporaries a two-day book fair is being held at Unison World School from 19th My -20th May 2023. The event is being organized in collaboration with Rainbow Books, New Delhi. The venue plenty of stalls have been put up and each stall caters to a particular genre and age group. Day 1 The Book Fair commenced with the inauguration of the event by the Principal Dr. Mona Khanna who encouraged the students to have an insatiable thirst for reading to enhance their knowledge, and to be a face in the crowd. The pupils then browsed different stalls for literature that piqued their attention. The buzz of enthusiastic readers surfing the stalls, scrutinising books, and scenting crisp paper was evident till the fair closed for the day. Day 2 The foot fall on day two of the fair was immense as it coincided with the first Parents Teacher Meeting of the session 2023-24. The enthusiasm shown by the parents was immense. Most of the parents were drawn to books like Ikigai, Phenomenal Woman by Kamala Harris, Independence by Chitra Banerjee, Tomb of Sand, The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida, and The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. The book fair was a tremendous success since it gave kids the chance to learn about new books and writers and explore a world beyond their world.
