Narrativa 2025 – Youth Literature Festival 08-Nov-2025

Unison World School proudly launched the inaugural edition of Narrativa, a youth literature festival that celebrates the written word and the power of expression. Divided into three days, the grand opening of the event began with Dr. Roshen Dalal, Ms. Indrani Pandhi, and Dr. Mona Khanna, followed by a devotional invocation dance featuring participation from over 20 leading schools and a distinguished lineup of authors, journalists, and educators. The day unfolded with thought-provoking sessions, panel discussions, literary competitions, and immersive workshops. A presentation by Ms. Swetcha Pershad on Hindi Diwas was delivered with humor and warmth. The panel discussion titled "Uttarakhand@25," featuring Ms. Bijoya Sawian, Mr. Lokesh Ohri, Mr. Tapas Chakraborty, and Mr. Kulbhushan Kain, moderated by Ms. Deepanjali Singh reflected on the cultural evolution of the state. Ms. Mariyam Fatima discussed the emotional depths of her childhood-inspired work, while Ms. Alma Dhingra captivated audiences with her storytelling of "Jonathan Livingston Seagull." Dr. Ruby Gupta shared her journey as an author through her book, "A Degree in Death," while Mr. Kulbhushan Kain's workshop, Inkignite, inspired budding writers to explore their unique voices. The day also included student-led competitions, such as "The Bard on Trial," "ShutterTale," "Nine for a Novel," and a vibrant Open Mic, which rounded out day one. The second day began with a thought-provoking address by Mr. Tapas Chakraborty, Assistant Commissioner at the Ministry of Finance, who spoke about the importance of reading, the value of books over screens, and maintaining balance through health and discipline. The standout session "Bearing Witness – Reverse Author's Interaction" featured students discussing and critiquing Mr. Kartik Venkatesh's works in an engaging dialogue. Creative challenges like Protagonist 2.0 and Bestie's Gupshup enabled students to reimagine literary characters, while workshops like Sketch Tale, led by Ms. Beenu, combined art and storytelling. Students of Grades VI to VIII had an enriching interaction with Ms. Deepanjali Singh, the creative mind behind The Tiger Story. The session provided valuable insights into the powerful connection between storytelling and wildlife conservation. Emotional performances, such as Mr. Ramlal Bhatt's Protagonist Monologue with string puppetry, celebrated tradition. An address from Ms. Rajat Shakti of Red FM 93.5 further energized the day. Sessions like "Muses of a Commoner," "The Wonder of Words," and the Youth Literature Festival inspired creativity, empathy, and a sense of cultural identity. The day concluded with "LitLoom," where Mr. Vikramjit Singh Rooprai shared his journey, emphasizing that authentic learning stems from curiosity. The last day of Narrativa began with an inspiring keynote on the deep connection between reading and leadership by Dr. Sanjeev Chopra. Mrs. Jyotsna Brar, former Principal of Welham Girls' School, encouraged students to enjoy slow, immersive reading and led a workshop called "Echoes of Expression," blending poetry and science. While Mr. Nitin Gairola introduced younger students to global ecosystems. The Cosplay Chronicles brought literature to life through performance, and the Closing Ceremony celebrated cultural diversity, showcasing student-authored books, including the launch of the school's literary journal, Epiphany. Narrativa 2025 concluded with inspiration and a renewed love for storytelling.
